Hi, I’m Joe.

I’m Joe Kuschman, CFP®, founder of Earnest Planning. My experience spans financial planning, investment management, and financial technology. My approach is simple: understand the whole picture, make the tradeoffs clear, and give people practical next steps.

Earnest Planning is built for professionals whose financial lives have grown more complex, especially those navigating equity compensation, changing careers, and the financial decisions that come with building a family. Stock awards, taxes, benefits, investments, and long-term goals can all affect one another. Bringing those pieces together can make it easier to see how each decision fits into the life you want.

I believe your finances should support your life, not become another job. My goal is to help you put what you’ve earned to work for you, with thoughtful advice and a plan connected to the choices that matter.

I live in Chicago with my wife and our young family. Outside work, I enjoy pickleball and exploring the city’s parks and restaurants.
